Church Point and Thoroughgood drainage design

The city is designing phased storm-drain, culvert, and wet-pond improvements for Church Point, Thoroughgood, Pleasure House Road, and Northampton Boulevard.

Local record and application

What this record means for a receiving site

Virginia Beach lists Church Point and Thoroughgood improvements as a phased response to flooding during moderate rain. The plan includes larger storm pipes and a future wet pond in one phase, with culvert work under Shore Drive, Pleasure House Road, and Northampton Boulevard in another. The city says the later phase was in early design with a 30-percent milestone expected by the end of 2026; phase order was adjusted to avoid adverse downstream effects. This is not a notice that all those road crossings are currently closed. A Virginia Beach kitchen trailer rental for a nearby institutional kitchen would need its own verified food-service interruption, a safe pad, and an approach that remains usable when rain or subsequent construction affects the area. Specify meals per shift, cooking line, electrical load, potable water, wastewater, and grease handling. Verify the exact property relative to the different phase locations; the broad neighborhood names cannot substitute for a current delivery route or flood assessment.
